Archaeology of an inventory

Personal project

2020-2021

Archaeology of an inventory is an artistic research based on an archaeological activity in the deposits of the Museu de Granollers, functional to the identification of the works of art guarded during the Civil War and that currently still remain in the museum. Through an exhibition and a publication, the research contextualises the phenomenon at a local level, gives an account of the research process and brings together all the pieces that make up the collection of the Salvaguarda in Vallès Oriental as well as their places of origin. In addition to this task, and through information extracted from the 1936 documentation, the work also offers a mapping of historical sites of power in the region through the identification of the estates and churches from which the seized pieces mainly came.
