Article 85 of Royal Decree 85.2 RD 2568/1986 regulates the obligation to have in all the town halls of the Spanish State the image of the monarch “in a preferential place in the meeting room”. Cesión temporal, on the other hand, requested, in all towns with more than 3,000 inhabitants in the province of Valencia, the temporary loan of the official portraits of Felipe VI to be exhibited at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea del Carmen de Valencia during the months of the exhibition Arcana Imperii, by Oriol Fontdevila.

I bring into play the power of the image to explore imaginaries of power, ranging from the aesthetic and cultural tastes of Franco’s elites to the visual identities of today’s politicians on social networks, and including official portraiture in democracy.

Graduated in photography at the Escola Groc in Barcelona, graduated in Fine Arts and Master in Artistic Production and Research at the University of Barcelona and PhD in Art and Cultural Studies at BAU Centre University of Art and Design/Univeristat de Vic. The result of my research has received recognition in the form of grants such as BCN Crea, OSIC, La Capella-BCN Producción, VEGAP, Sala de Arte Joven, Centre d’Art Maristany among others, and awards such as the Bienal de Valls-Guasch Coranty, the Premio Ciudad de Manacor or the national award Valencia Crea. My work has been shown in centres such as the MUSAC in León, the CCC del Carmen (Valencia), Arts Santa Mónica, La Capella and Fabra i Coats (Barcelona), the Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Madrid) and soon in the Centro de la Imagen (Ciudad de México). In 2013 I was included in the publication Arte Español Contemporáneo (1992-2013) -La Fábrica, Rafael Doctor- and my work forms part of collections such as that of the Pla Nacional de Fotografia de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Museu Morera de Lleida), Fundació Ciutat de Valls (Museu de Valls), Ajuntament de Manacor or that of the Fundació Cristina Masaveu Peterson.
